Poulton Golf Society
Our Story
Originally, started by myself as Windy Harbour Golf Society in 2021. We had 12 members all of whom owned caravans at Windy Harbour Caravan Park. After the first season, and presentation night it became apparent we had outgrown Windy Harbour and it was time to move on.
We are now based out of ‘Simbar’ in Poulton Le Fylde and we have renamed the society ‘Poulton Golf Society’
We have steadily grown and for the start of the 2025 season we will have around 30 society members.
I still do the day to day tasks, booking courses and negotiating green fees etc. We now have Chris Summerscales who is handicap secretary, Hilary Wood is Treasurer, and Craig Smedley organises all side competitions for each round we play.
At the end of the season we have a presentation day where various trophies are awarded, we also have a great raffle with some fabulous prizes to be won.
2025 we have some great fixtures lined up so let’s hope the weather is a little kinder than it was in 2024.
